In 1966, Tom Kemp founded Kemp and Associates, an heir location firm based in Florida, in an effort to track down missing or unknown heirs to estates that may otherwise be absorbed by the government. Through thorough research and investigative methods, Kemp and Associates (often written “Kemp & Associates”) identifies rightful heirs and allows them to claim the estates of their relatives. One such case connected a US Army captain who served in Vietnam with a previously unknown relative’s estate. After a woman by the name of Barbara B. passed away, her estate risked being seized due to the fact that her heirs were unknown to the court. During an investigation into the case, evidence emerged proving that Robert Bacon, a renowned Army captain whose photograph had appeared on Life magazine, belonged to the decedent’s family and had a rightful claim to the estate. Prior to accepting the inheritance, Robert Bacon had enjoyed an impressive career. After serving overseas, Mr. Bacon joined the Army Chiefs of Staff, where he arranged presidential funerals and earned a promotion to lead the Fort Jackson 2nd Infantry Brigade as commander. via WordPress https://ift.tt/316DvQi

Kemp and Associates, based in Salt Lake City, Utah, works to trace missing heirs to unclaimed estates. After the retirement of the founder of Kemp & Associates in 1991, the business moved to Salt Lake City, home of one of the world’s largest genealogical databases. Today, Kemp and Associates’ experienced research team combs through this resource and numerous others as they work to connect long-lost relatives and with property rightfully theirs. One of the best resources for family genealogy is the Family History Library in Salt Lake, Utah. The 142,000 square-foot Family History Library is a project of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS) created as part of its spiritual and social mission. It offers an online database at FamilySearch.org, as well as extensive in-person help to amateur genealogists and skilled researchers alike. The Family History Library, considered a world-class research institution, is the result of millions of hours of patient, tireless research, supported through millions of dollars in dedicated funding. In addition to its database, its collections include information in printed books, and microfiche and microfilm format. It is important to remember that the Family History Library contains extensive genealogical information on families throughout the United States and the world, many of whom have no personal connection to the LDS church. The church’s mission of tracing genealogy extends to all of humanity, and it makes its resources available free. via WordPress https://ift.tt/2YeXEmF For decades, the Kemp and Associates team has worked hard to reduce the number of estates claimed through government processes when heirs cannot be located. Kemp and Associates, located in Salt Lake City, Utah, offers a range of services, including legal verification of an heir’s status. Providing legal proof of an heir’s identity is the longest, most complex part of resolving estate issues. Before a court will consider an individual as heir to an estate, they must first review a number of birth records, including all relevant birth, marriage, and death certificates. Not only does the firm obtain and submit these documents to the court, but they also construct a precise genogram that illustrates the exact relationship between the former estate owner and the heir. In addition to meeting any burden of proof put forth by the court regarding the heir’s identity, the firm is also capable of offering regular progress reports on a case and effectively distributing assets following a successful case. Even better, the firm requires no upfront payment for overseeing a case. You can learn about these and other services, including how Kemp &Associates locates heirs, at http://www.kempandassociates.com. via WordPress https://ift.tt/2y41NyK Kemp & Associates is an international probate research firm. Primarily, Kemp and Associates locates missing heirs and helps them receive their rightful inheritance. There are many instances that may result in missing heirs. For example, a beneficiary of an estate named in a will may die intestate before the probate process is complete. In this case, Kemp and Associates steps in to locate his or her heirs. Sometimes, beneficiaries die before an estate is distributed. If the will requires a beneficiary to survive the deceased for a period of time to inherit, and the beneficiary dies before that period ends, the gift lapses. Typical survivorship periods are anywhere from five days to two months. In such cases, the inheritance will go to an alternate beneficiary if one is appointed in the will. If not, depending on state law, the inheritance will go to the beneficiary’s descendants or to the original deceased person’s heirs. Some wills do not include survivorship periods, but state law imposes them. For example, in states that have adopted the Uniform Probate Code, all beneficiaries must survive the deceased for at least five days to inherit. If the deceased beneficiary lived past the survivorship period but died before distribution, the beneficiary’s share of the estate goes to his or her beneficiaries. If the person had no will, the estate goes into intestate succession and his or her heirs must be found. via WordPress https://ift.tt/3b84AVR Kemp and Associates is an international probate research firm with deep expertise in locating missing estate heirs. Established in 1966, Kemp and Associates works with public officers such as public administrators in the probate process, ensuring heirs receive their fair share of the inheritance.
A public administrator is an official appointed at the county level to administer the estate of a person who died leaving behind no will and no relatives to act as executors. Upon death, the public administrator takes hold of the deceased’s assets, in a fiduciary capacity, pending the location of his or her family and relatives. The administrator can continue serving in such capacity if no relatives are found or if they are found but are unwilling to act as executors. Pending the location of surviving family members, a public administrator can use estate assets to meet immediate needs like the deceased’s funeral expenses and taxes. Once surviving relatives are found, the public administrator will work with a probate court to distribute assets among these relatives. Public administrators’ roles, though, are not limited to when there is a deceased person. These officials can also serve as conservators or guardians of people with mental disabilities who have no known family. On behalf of the team at Kemp and Associates in Salt Lake City, Utah, President Jeffrey Kemp and Vice President Daniel Mannix have donated $10,000 to Hannah’s Hope Fund (HHF, http://www.hannahshopefund.org/). The donation will help fund a clinical trial to treat Giant Axonal Neuropathy (GAN), a rare disease afflicting young children that can be best described as juvenile Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS).
The trial will be underway this spring at the National Institute of Health in Bethesda, MD. "This clinical trial could have global implications. This novel gene replacement therapy to the central nervous system could have applications to other closely-related neurodegenerative diseases that affect thousands of people every year," says Matt Sames, founder of HHF and father of Hannah. HHF was inspired seven years ago by Hannah Sames, an 11-year-old girl from Rexford, NY, who is afflicted with GAN. HHF has members worldwide, and is the world’s only 501c3 Public Charity dedicated to developing a therapy for GAN. Private donations from generous companies such as Kemp and Associates have allowed HHF to drive therapy development at a rapid rate in order to save lives. About Kemp and Associates Since 1966, Kemp and Associates (http://kempandassociates.com/) has specialized in international probate research and forensic genealogy. The company assists trustees, attorneys, administrators, and executors in locating and verifying an estate’s rightful heirs and beneficiaries in the United States and abroad. Kemp and Associates is committed to reducing the number of estates escheated to the state to ensure that people’s hard-earned assets are shared with the families they leave behind. |
